LG Wright Paneled Thistle Cake Stand. This pattern was introduced in 1939 and was discontinued in 1980. It was modeled after the 1910 design of J.B. Higbee. The intricate pattern is composed of 8 panels separated by curving ridges. The panels alternate with two different designs of thistles. Each panel's ridge ends at the rim with a rounded point and between the points the rim is a scallop design of different size scallops. The pedestal is also ridged into 8 panels, with smaller ridges running on the pedestal from top to bottom.
